About

I created an online course to help teachers choose appropriate assistive technology to personalise learning and support for students with diverse needs. I collaborated with an SME from the Inclusion and Wellbeing Directorate in the NSW Department of Education to create the content, and developed the course using the Adapt eLearning authoring tool.

The course consists of:

  • an introduction to the concepts of personalised learning, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and assistive technology.

  • the Student, Environment, Tasks, Tools (SETT) Framework, which teachers can use to guide them each time they have a student who may benefit from assistive technology.

  • hands-on, interactive activities to apply knowledge that is developed throughout the course.

Highlights

  • Included H5P interactive HTML5 content such as multi-choice questions with feedback, drag and drop matching and text capture fields

  • Included mini scenarios with feedback based on real life application of skills

  • Accredited professional learning for teachers

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which I live and work. I pay my respects to Indigenous Elders past, present and emerging. It always was, and always will be Aboriginal land.
